Cookie Policy
This page lists every browser-storage item the site actually uses, verified directly in the codebase rather than assumed. There are no advertising or cross-site tracking technologies on this site.

01What this policy covers
This policy describes cookies and comparable browser-storage technologies (such as localStorage) used on www.theosquantum.com. It does not cover data processed inside a customer's AutoPQC workspace, which is addressed in the Privacy Policy instead.
02The opt-in model
This site uses an opt-in model, not opt-out. Strictly necessary storage — the item that records your cookie choice itself, and your light/dark theme preference — is always on because the site cannot function sensibly without it. The one optional category, aggregate analytics, defaults to refused until you actively allow it.
If you dismiss the consent banner without making an explicit choice, or if you never see it because your browser blocks it, the optional analytics category remains refused. Refusal is the default state, not an exception you have to select.
03What is actually stored, item by item
The table below lists every item this site's own code writes to your browser, verified directly against the source that implements it, not inferred from a generic template.
| Name | Category | Purpose | Storage mechanism | Duration | Party |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| theos.consent.v1 | Strictly necessary | Records your cookie/analytics choice (accepted or refused) and the timestamp of that choice, so the banner does not reappear on every visit. | Browser localStorage (not a cookie) | Until you clear your browser storage or change your choice via Cookie settings | First party |
| theme | Strictly necessary (preference) | Remembers whether you selected light or dark mode so the site renders in your chosen theme on return visits. | Browser localStorage (not a cookie), written by the next-themes library | Until you clear your browser storage | First party |
04No advertising or cross-site tracking
This site does not run advertising pixels, retargeting tags, or cross-site tracking technologies of any kind. There is no third-party analytics script active on the site today. The only optional category described in the consent banner — aggregate analytics — is not currently wired to any vendor.
05Changing your choice
You can change your analytics choice at any time using the control below, which reopens the same preferences panel shown in the consent banner.
[PLACEHOLDER: confirm whether a persistent Cookie settings control will also be added to the site footer or header on every page; today the control shown above is on this page only.]
06What refusing costs you
Nothing. Refusing the optional analytics category does not disable any page, feature, form, or download on this site. The only storage that cannot be turned off is the item that remembers your choice and your theme preference, both of which exist to make the site usable rather than to track you.
07Changes to this policy
If the set of storage items this site uses changes — for example if an analytics tool is enabled — we will update the table above and the “last updated” date at the top of this page.
